What if...Beastly Kingdom

This week we are featuring our first listener submitted segment. "What if.....Beastly Kingdom?". Jonathan and I are discussing ""What if the Beastly Kingdom would have been built?"

What is Beastly Kingdom?

Beastly Kingdom is a land that was proposed for Disney's Animal Kingdom that was going to be dedicated to mythical creatures and for whatever reasons (most likely budget constraints) it was never built

Thrill rides?

Originally, it was proposed that Beastly Kingdom would be a land filled with Disney thrill rides. So we ask the question, is this a good idea? And would we have put thrill rides in Beastly Kingdom if it were up to us?

Jonathan doesn't think filling this land with thrill rides is such a great idea.
Bryan agrees with Jonathan but wouldn't mind having one major E-ticket thrill ride attraction like Expedition Everest in Beastly Kingdom.

The weenie?

Jonathan's idea for the weenie of the land would be The Beast's castle. This would serve as a prop to draw guests into the land and would make for a pretty awesome nighttime show with fireworks and/or laser and special effects lighting. Bryan agrees that the one thing Animal Kingdom is currently lacking is a good nighttime show. Well.....ANY nighttime show.

Do Disney characters fit into Beastly Kingdom?

This has long been a question regarding Epcot so we ask the same question for Beastly Kingdom.
Bryan has an idea for a Mickey and the Beanstalk themed attraction. Much like the Tree of Life but with a spiral staircase that guests can walk up which lets you out above the clouds and into the giants house with larger than life props. But would Mickey and other Disney characters fit in Beastly Kingdom?
Jonathan thinks that Disney characters would fit very well into this land. He makes the point by suggesting having Maleficent as a dragon in a Dragon's Lair type attraction from Disneyland Paris. He backs this theory up with the comment that there are a lot of characters in Disney fairytales that aren't really prevelant in the parks and would lend themselves very well to a land like Beastly Kingdom.

Restaurant/Show?
Jonathan has a creative idea for a dinner show inside The Beast's castle in which your environment comes to life around you, somewhat reminiscent of the castle in "Beauty in the Beast" where you have Disney characters serving your meal in what would be one impressive character meal/show.

Bryan has a similar idea but would like to see a restaurant go into the bottom of Expedition Everest in which you walk in and are seated inside the mountain and can hear roars from the Yeti periodically throughout your meal. Much like the Rainforest Cafe.
